ANTOINETTE MURACA
iBBA 2018

1) I want to run for Vice President of Operations because I want to use my extensive event planning experience combined with my passion for improvement and innovation to directly influence the Schulich experience and to make it increasingly more positive. Through this role's responsibilities I will have the chance to connect and work with the Schulich community to make a positive impact on the way students engage and interact with the school and the people around them through planning Orientation Week, Grad Lunch, Formal and assisting in all other UBS run events.
2) I am a suitable candidate to be on UBS because of my experience within various Schulich clubs and UBS committees. In the past 3 years I have held prominent and influential roles such as team lead of Graduate Lunch committee (First Year), member of Formal committee (First Year), Orientation Week Executive - Sponsorship Lead (Second Year), Student Life Committee Social - Logistics Coordinator (Second Year), member of Grad Lunch Committee (Second Year), member of Formal Committee (Second Year), Orientation Week Executive - Team Lead (Third Year), Student Life Committee - Executive Coordinator (Third Year). This is all in addition to my work on Schulich Charity Association with my efforts in gaining sponsorship (Second & Third Year).
3) If I am elected, issues I will address include improving connections between the Schulich and York community, increasing school spirit throughout the year to continue the energy and interactions started during Orientation Week, and to support more organized and innovative UBS events. Overall I want to change the way students experience Schulich for the better so that we become a more united community that is engaged and excited about the school they attend.
4) You should vote for me because my vast and relevant experience give me the capability and competency to make REAL change within the Schulich Community. The role of Vice President of Operations is more than just planning a fun Orientation Week, this role is about enriching the student experience throughout the year. I want to hear your voice and make the changes you want to see. When was the last time you were excited to come to school? My goal is to make sure your answer is "everyday", and I am confident that with my skills and abilities, this can become a reality.
